Bognor Regis and Selsey Bognor Regis is a popular holiday resort in the traditional English style. The town claims to be the sunniest place in the UK with the greatest number of sunshine hours! It has good access form the A27 the main south coast through route. For details of Bognor Regis Hotels and Holidays, Guest Houses, Cottages and Attractions. Go to Bognor Regis Hotels Guest Houses and Cottages The town was a quiet fishing village until it was 'discovered' by Sir Richard Hotham in the 1780s who thought that it would be an excellent location for a spa. he bought a large area of land and developed it for that purpose. Development of the resort has continued through the years and it achieved its royal accolade - Regis - in 1929 when George V popped down for a few days. Today there are many attractions for the tourist and plenty to keep children amused as well. The beach is sandy, clean and long so space is not a problem. There is an attractive pier as well to keep you amused.
Selsey
Selsey Bill refers to the headland on which the town is located that juts out into the English Channel. There are good beaches all around the town with the eastern beach being the most popular. Swimming is generally safe along the main beach area but not around the headland where there are strong currents. A lifeboat station is located on the headland.
