Lyme Regis (population 4000) is a small resort town on the Dorset coast overlooking Lyme Bay - it has a small harbour and good beaches. The town is a mixture of rural village and seaside resort - it does get busy in the summer. The most famous sight is The Cobb, the Victorian quay that protects the harbour. The coastal area is now part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
