Salcombe is situated on the south coast of Devon, over looking the Kingsbridge estuary. It is a small town with a population of around 3000 but this goes up considerably during the summer months. Salcombe is famous as a seaside resort and sailing centre. There are several excellent beaches and stunning scenery all around the town. There are a considerable number of moorings in the estuary and as a consequence there are many sailing folks around. A small ferry tales visitors to East Portlemouth on the far side of the estuary where there are some stunning sandy beaches. Parking can be a problem in mid-summer.
